We escaped Plaguefell, met Silvanos the Titanslayer (who didn't kill us but mentioned that Belsameth wants us dead), and began to exit the swamp. We came upon a lost soldier who was under attack by one tendriculos, and ended up defeating six of them. He has an item that his company picked up from one of The Ships, and it appears to be cursed to attract enemies.

It's dangerous but good XP's, I guess.

We picked our way through many traps and found where Sithas was hanging out. We defeated her, but had to find the globes...which were behind a secret door and a *very* powerful magical trap. Inside there we found the essences of Chern as well as the stolen memories of three gods (Goran, Nathalos, and the lost god of the Forsaken Elves). Then Madriel showed up, told us to find a follower of this forsaken god, and mentioned that Yakel was on his way. Belsameth is unhappy with us, but Madriel thanked us and took Nanners home with her.

Next session we need to beg some long-lost badass for mercy and sic him on Yakel, then get out of the swamp before we die of a dozen diseases, each one more horrible than the last.

We took care of a few slytherin raiders below the hut we entered after dropping a confusion on their warriors (which worked very well), then started to look around. We found some slytherin shamans and some rat and centipede swarms, which normally aren't a problem. However, fireballs cause cave-ins and the passages are very twisty and rooms small...therefore, no fireballs.

The traps that kept chopping us up into bits were also a problem, but now that Kylael shapechanged into a dire badger and can dig us around, we may have a new plan.

We found Plaguefell, scouted around, handled a couple of random encounters, and came up with a plan. So far, it's working...but we have just begun.

We need to make sure we lay the whammy on the hut with the boss-man. We also need to stabilize these prisoners, then head below.

No game on 9/6.

We had our chat about how to handle Yakel and ended up faking him out using Lyrd for bait. Presumably it worked, although Iochad is accompanying her. Hopefully he survives. Meanwhile the party is heading straight for Plaguefell, which hopefully will not have the Priest-King inside anymore.

We looted Lyrd, got back to Vesh, frightened Iochad, and got some information. The Priest-King is probably going to look for us. We Interrogated Lyrd thanks to a lucky Charm Person saving throw and got her to spill the beans. Next time, she's going to go on a trip to Lav (for justice, or execution, or something). We're going to rest, help defend some poor farmer's manor, and go in after the Priest King.

The first three essences of Chern are gone, and so is the fog. We avoided a few patrols after we could see again until some total badass Slytherin (Paul read the name off too fast) came after us. We survived her and her mob, thankfully.

Next game on 7/26, we continue rocking and rolling in the Marsh. Of course, her allies will have it out for us but they already did, so whatever.

We do need to loot the body.

Our ranger got lost. That's bad. We also found out that our Madriel-touched Slytherin is going to be important to find the rest of the dark orbs, which are essences of Chern left inside people. We are going to send the orbs back to the druids who are loitering outside the Vigil's camp to be destroyed, then keep tromping through the swamp.

We finished up the mess with Alor and Garwyn, talked to Iochad and got the good news about some artifact of Chern, and then prepared to go vanquish some Slytherin in the Mourning Marshes. On the way, Rothwar got munched by an enormous viper in a random encounter. Once again, we have the discussion...pay to Raise him, Reincarnate him, or flush the character for a new one.

We got back to Lav after dealing with some diseases from the slytherin. We divvied up the spoils from our last couple fights in time to get our audience with Clemus Dern. We told him the story of how Wyngar didn't return with us. Clemus was upset that Wyngar was dead and still held Garwyn responsible, and after consulting us decided he was going to hold Garwyn in his jail and send Alor back with the dwarves to provide them information and/or investigate Garwyn's claims.

The party did what they could to find out if we should go to Burok Torn, but results were inconclusive...

Next week we'll watch Alor leave on his homecoming parade, or so we assume.

Kylael, Anawaya at her side, sat cross legged in the center of her room. A soft hum reverberated off the walls as a soft light coalesced around the praying pair. Kylael's filled with tears as she thought of the sacrifice that Wyngar had chosen. The very sacrifice that she now prayed to Denev about.

We got into the mines, found the obelisk where the Vortex resided...we made our way through a bunch of traps and monsters, then got into the final room where Wyngar disabled the Vortex while the rest of us kept some crystal golems off him. He decided to destroy all the psionic critters and stuff around, but it destroyed himself as well. He will be spending his time in a Dreamscape that's a pale shadow of Tanil's garden...

And the rest of us will have to take care of Alor, because he's gonna be pissed now that Wyngar--his safe passage back out of Vesh--is gone. And Osbourne, because he will be mad that the most awesome psionic toy ever was just destroyed without Osbourne there to see it.

Wyngar lied his way down into the obsidian mines where he saw part of the Cortex Vortex...Barth invited him to join their circle because apparently he's potentially the closest of all to the Slerecians, but all he had to do was kill Osbourne because the halfling's a risk of ratting out the circle. Wyngar just has to prove his loyalty.

We convinced Osbourne to stick his consciousness into the crystal and we'll put him back later. The Order of the Closed Fist showed up to take Wyngar away for questioning, and while they were there, they took information concerning Osbourne's untimely demise. Hopefully that doesn't bite us as well...

We found out that there is a group of psions in the city of Lokil, and they're trying to get some Slerecian artifacts from below the city. They have compromised Osbourne but feel he's no threat, and disregard Kylael's meager psionic abilities. However, they don't know that Wyngar's a psion.

Soon we'll get to see some sage (who's also in this secret group, unfortunately) who may be able to help us. The question is, what information will they get from *us*?

The next day, we go to bury Wendel's body. On the way back, we notice some activity just outside of town. It turns out to be a man leaving on horseback, and the priest of Belsameth and another man. Kylael goes to listen in, and they are talking about the "fake" priest of Belsameth, and the need to capture him. Great. No matter what else, you just can't trust a priest of Belsameth.

We got to Vashon, which was great...then we bit hard on a plot hook and got captured by Antius, head battlemage of Calastia. Instead of killing us, he offered us a job (or exile). We chose exile because the term of the job was until we died--at least, if not longer than that.

We then made tracks to Lokil and got there relatively event-free. Next time, we need to find some info on Wyngar's condition.

Being completely exhausted, we pile up the gear from Kelgarond, and settle in for some sleep. The next day, eveyone but myself and Alor talk to the townsfolk. Kylael shoots back to Treela, and it sounds like they went through a huge panic because the plague turned up there. She says the rioting is over there, but I'm still more than a little nervous about going back there so soon.

We finished up in the small town, looked at some psionic lootz, then decided to go back to Trela. There, we caused some trouble...some of us wanted to burn the temple to Belsameth down, some of us wanted to make the priest look like a fool without getting him killed, and some of us just wanted to skip town.

We ended up making a huge mess in the city but kept anyone else from dying. Now just as long as no other priests of Belsameth show up in the next 12 hours, it's all good...
