The professor asks you all to sit down and asks for a bit of patience as he heads back to his kitchen. With a curious look and his continual smile, Arithel watches the professor walk off for a bit, and then sits down when he notices the rest of you seated.

A minute later, the professor walks back in with a tray full of teacups and offers each of you one. Arithel recognizes the tea and happily sips while the professor begins to mumble in a the strange language of magic.

The professor begins to speak to Arithel in a strange language, then another, and a third when suddenly Arithelís eyes light up in recognition. Arithel begins to speak hurriedly until the professor hushes him.

The professor turns to all of you and says, "Iím sorry, I didnít mean to be rude. I cannot give you the ability to speak to Arithel right now, but is easy for you to be able to at least understand us."

He chants briefly, then points to each of you in turn. You feel a strange wiggling in your right ears, but when the professor addresses Arithel again you hear:

We made sort of a plan to leave the Ganjus, failed on purpose to mention some really important information about the Heart of Mormo to the elves, and headed off to the Hornsaw. Before we got to the forest itself we had an encounter with an average pack of displacer beasts; unfortunately, they slaughtered Barril...who was subsequently Reincarnated into a halfling.

This is what happens when you listen to a mouse.

Once in the Hornsaw we had several fights with the locals, which are going to prove quite troublesome.

Yeah!

Christmas time is here! Yep, that meant VACATION!. Well it really wasn't all that great. Jake and Kokoname had taken off and I pretty much spent the time by myself. So I did what any girl would do and pulled out my cell phone.. (grin)

The amphora was gone. Keevas was gone. Barlen had apparently had some foolish plan that involved Amara Verath that had gotten the amphora stolen by the hag Helia. All in all not quite the day Kylael had been expecting.

Good news: We didn't lose the amphora when the caravan disappeared...our elven guides found it.

Bad news: We lost the amphora when Barlen was captured by Amara Verath and taken to the headquarters of Dar El Anat. *Supposedly* this was part of Barlen's plan.

Anyway we have to head into the Hornsaw. When we find Barlen, we're going to kick his ass out of principle.

So after we defeated the possessed child at the festival I asked Hisa if she would come to my house and check out this rumor of spirits haunting my house. She agreed to check it out and we headed off to the dojo. When we arrived we found my father passed out with the bottle. I kicked him awake and asked him where the ghosts were supposed to be and he said that they would be coming pretty soon. We all perked up our ears and heard some wailing and voices when two ghosts walk right through the door. I make a move toward them and Saburo points at me and says something along the lines of "why are you here, Iíll kill all of your family" I replied with "why donít you just go to heaven all that is in the past"
The conversation persisted along those lines for a while before I finally laid the line "which do you care about more, revenge or being with the one you love". This seamed to stump him for a bit and he asked what I meant. I told him that if he really wanted to be with Rikko then he'd forget about revenge and help us find a way for them to be together. I pointed out that we had a priestess in our midst and that I would give him consent to marry Rikko. Saburo thought about this and agreed giving me until dawn to perform the wedding or they would disappear.
While I worked on forging a ring for Sabarro to give to Rikko the rest of the group decorated the dojo for the wedding. Right before dawn we had the wedding and Sabaro said that I was truly a great man and that he would not return because he could move on. I spent the rest of the next day cleaning up the dojo while everyone else went to school.

I really wasnít terribly pleased with the fact that my boss sent me to be retrained. Iíve been working with him long enough that he should definitely know that I can get jobs done, and if I wanted to, I could finish him off at any time. Of course that would put my drunken father and I out on the streets, but at least Iíd finally be rid of being at his damn beck and call night and day. I mean, what if I wanted to actually pay attention in school one day, instead of sleeping through all my classes. Ö Forget that idea. School sucks.

So some Japaneese festival rolled around and i thought it would be i nice thing to take Nami to. So she showed up at my house in time to catch my father on his third bottle of sake talking about some spirits that show up at this time every year.
I elected to blow the joint and hit the festival, so thats what we did. During some ritual one of the spectators child turned into at 12 foot demon that sproted other demons. When it started attacking the crowd i went into action and leapattacked it. Some of the priesteses helped out ad even managed to heal me when i was about to go down. All in all the only one that ended up in big trouble was the head priestest who took a few big hits from the demon and went down. When we finished off the demon we regrouped...

Kylael sat upon a hummock outside the spider's lair. Keevas had just come storming past. Not even noticing her sit there. After all why should he. It was him after all that had thrown her out of the lair. Kylael had heard the tone in his voice and the welts on her back from his staff still stung.

The party went into the Ganjus forest and ran into an ambush that went pretty easily. Later that day, the scouts saw something unusual...it turns out that the facestealer we saw in the Morgaunt village was back around, and had some babies with it. We went inside a huge spider's nest and finished off the spiders.

After the fight, we threatened the facestealer to get it to put the babies' faces off. It did. And then the party's personality conflicts came to a head again. Kylael tried to kill the facestealer because of its past deeds, but Keevas was going to honor Barlen's agreement to let it live. Barril finished it off as Kylael walked out; Keevas then announced that *he* was leaving as well. Barlen said he was planning to slay it as soon as the faces were back anyway.

Too late...the group was down to three.

Kylael huddled against the rock trying to keep the cruel winds off her back. She kept envisioning Wendal's horse falling out of the gondola that crossed the canyon. She tried to shake off the imagery, but for maybe the first time in her life, she could feel someone else's pain at losing a treasured friend.

We killed the huge elemental with only one casualty. Clemus Dern has a plan for why Amara Verath was let go; hopefully it's a good one. We find out our next mission is to carry the Serpent Amphora to the heart of the Ganjus forest, where the druids there will destroy it. We travel through the Canyon of Souls and despite almost freezing to death, the only casualty was Wendel's horse. He blames Kylael.

Sakura chatted with Kokoname's father on the night of the Festival of the Spirits of the Winter Winds; in between bottles of sake, the old man came back with "some book that's been in the back for a long time". He knew there were spirits that caused trouble every December, and the book might have more information if she cared to look.
