We found the location of Darth Sirius and Senji (Xevius) and went there to deal with him. With the help of Senji (who we managed to turn back Light), we managed to kill Sirius. The only problem was Obachi turning Dark, and unfortunately he escaped.
The galaxy is safe from the Sith menace--for now...
Follow up:
May 3, 2009
This will be the final week, most likely. Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em!
A gives F the ability to move 6 squares as a swift. Nifty! Then she gives D the same ability. Then she gives all enemies -2 to their defense. Suck.
Obachi moves past a bunch of dudes. I attacks him but misses. Obachi says, “Be gone when I’m done with the others, or I’ll cut you in half!”
E has the double saber; F is carrying two heavy blasters rigged for quickdraw but is unarmed. D has a blaster rifle but has been using the Force instead.
Sartok steps forward and attacks E for a crit.
With a blur of speed, F draws his pistols and shoots Eli for 28. He also attempts to hit Denso but misses. B Force Lightnings Denso but it doesn’t do too much.
One of them attempts to Force Grip Sartok, who then Rebukes it…unfortunately, he doesn’t turn it back on dude. Denso shoots B and hits. Arg runs and is attacked by P (because he doesn’t have his lightsaber out). Then he Force Slams I and L and knocks them down.
E calls on the Rage from the Dark Side, using Force Point, heals up a bit, and attacks Sartok with his double-bladed saber (who blocks). C attempts to Grip Denso and hits; he takes full damage and can only swift next round.
Eli recovers.
A uses Walk the Line again (-2 to defense for all enemies for a round), then Aids Another. Obachi gets up to C and uses Battlestrike.
Sartok attacks E and hits for 23. F moves up and attacks Denso, who is denied his Dex bonus. Actually, he’s not. He shoots Eli, hits, and Collateral Damage’s Denso but misses. B grips Eli. D attempts to Lightning Sartok and fails; 14 points of damage except he Negates Energy.
Arg keeps moving and a couple of guys miss him.
E steps up to heal; Sartok AOO’s him and hits. Or not, because there would be a reaction to a reaction and that’s confusing. He focuses a Dark Side power on Sartok and hits. He is Wounded! If the damage moves him down the track, it will be Persistent. He Rebukes it and holds it out.
C attempts to maintain the Hold on Denso and fails. Then he turns to face Obachi.
Eli Starts to recover (one swift).
A Walks the Line, then gives C the ability to move. Obachi prepares to wreck C and crits for (37 x 3 = 111). Then he moves up to A.
Sartok Peps and attempts to Split Sever Force on D and E. It works! They cannot use Force Points for 1 hr per DSP. They also go two steps down the track every time they use a Force Power. E is using an item that gives him the power, so he will still be affected. Thanks to the 20, he also reloads his Force Suite.
F continues to shoot Eli and hits; Eli goes down and uses a Force point.
B uses a Force Point to regain an ability, then Grips Denso. Back to only having a single swift.
D attempts to Grip Obachi (and goes down the track 2). Arg activates his armor’s shield generator; he moves and shoots A. He misses.
E full attacks Sartok with the double-saber. He blocks the one attack that hits.
A withdraws, which normally would forbid Obachi from getting an AOO. But he has Withdrawal Strike…he does get a 19 which should hit and crit for 114 points of damage. That finishes her off.
Obachi uses Force Strike because he can’t do anything else.
Sartok hits D. D will not be able to hold his Grip.
Some stuff happens. D tries to run past Sartok and leaves. Sartok lets him.
Denso finishes recovering, activates Battle Strike, Force Points, and drills B. Or misses, rather.
E keeps attacking Sartok. He hits once; Sartok can’t block but does Negate Energy with a 20. E is getting pretty enraged.
Obachi, who is not held, moves up to E but misses. Sartok does hit. F attacks and misses.
B tries to Lightning Denso and misses so he only takes 17 points. Denso shoots B and hits, killing him. When Denso tries to move, F attempts to Withdraw AOO but misses. Arg shoots F and misses. E attacks Obachi because he can’t hit Sartok, and misses him too. Obachi attacks E, and hits…E does something as a reaction and calls on the Force (which moves him down the track). A shield springs into being and the damage is reflected back onto Obachi for 36 points. Yikes!
Sartok whacks E. Someone chucks a grenade at Denso. Denso A-A-shoots F and hits. Arg shoots E and misses.
Obachi, acting out of Rage, goes to Strike E down. He gets a free DSP and Obachi channels his rage. The attack drops E down the track to Helpless. F misses Obachi. Denso A-A-Shoots F.
Arg misses again. Joe rolls another 1, which makes 3 in a row.
Scott: That’s a 10. It’s like a 1, but with a zero.
E’s body heals while it’s laying there. Obachi hacks on it for another DSP but kills E. Something on E’s body calls to Obachi…it’s tickly, and dark-sidey.
Someone chucks a thermal detonator down the hallway. It’s lying there, waiting to explode. Denso picks it up with Move Object, then shuts it off. Nice!
Arg shoots F and misses. Obachi misses F. Sartok misses F. F calls for surrender.
Denso figures that since this guy threw a grenade and a TD at him in the last 10 seconds, no mercy. He shoots and hits for a DSP and 24 points.
Arg notices he dropped his rifle (just before Denso shot him), sticks his gun in his side, and tells him we’ll talk.
Obachi passes up the chance to get another DSP, and instead grabs the tingly object at his feet and pockets it without looking.
Sartok: What do you want to discuss?
Dude: Terms of surrender.
Denso moves up to fix Eli. Eli moves backwards and stands up.
Sartok interrogates the guy; he would go to Nar Shadda and talk to the Vigo to turn us in. He will not lead us to the Vigo. You can’t just get your way in without being in the mob already. The bounty comes from the Vigo himself.
Eli looks remarkably like this guy (F).
Now that E’s dead, he changes. He’s actually a shapechanger (a Clawdite (sp)). He used to look like a Zabrac (sp) but he went back to his own form.
Obachi’s toy is a piece of Holochron crystal that gives him many abilities. The crystal will heal you 10 points per round for 10 rounds if you all on it. The problem is, it’s a Dark Side holochron crystal. You need at least 2 DSP’s to use it (no problem!) and the Dark Powers will earn you more DSP’s. Using the heal gives you a DSP every round it heals you.
It also whispers at you. It’s got one other effect—anyone who’s Force Sensitive can detect a Dark Side presence there.
This worked nicely for E who did not have Force Skills before. Obachi grabs the double-saber but only one end will light. It needs an overhaul.
We do not need to steal this guy’s identity, because going to see the Vigo is not the right thing to do.
We let the guy go because he doesn’t have anything else we need.
Nothing interesting on the rest of the bodies…just the trinket that Obachi picked up.
XP’s:
12th level, 5600
15th level, 3100
Sartok gets a premonition through the Force that we need to go home to Dantooine. We depart without trouble. The Force-sensitive among us feel the taint surrounding Obachi.
We rest and heal, etc. Two weeks later we arrive safely on Dantooine. We pull in on the Hutt vehicle to much apprehension; once we convince everyone that we *aren’t* Hutts, we go to the Council chambers.
Master Annu is there. He is surprised to see us because he thought we’d been captured. Since the first transgression, there has been a Sith fleet that came from unknown regions. It advanced into the Outer Rim and conquered 21 planets in 27 days. The battles were swift and their fleet overwhelming. They were unprepared for an attack that large; Darth Sirius has declared he will remake the galaxy in his own image—and he will start by eradicating the Jedi.
He has a large android army, and the ships are alive—grown from some kind of sick organic monstrosity. The living beings on each planet are flown away and brought to a superstation that converts living matter into living droids—some humanoid, some as large as spaceships. The Force has been screaming at this abomination.
Suddenly, we all hear hundreds of millions of voices screaming out at once, coming from the galaxy itself. But, like any good enemy, he has become arrogant and left his base station poorly-defended as he pressed his attack through the Mid Rim and towards Coruscant. The Republic has mustered an army to stop him at the edge of the Coruscant system; they can hold off Sirius for a short while. But we must stop the juggernaut because each planet he takes makes him stronger. You must attack his base; we have analyzed its structure and it resembles the item you dispatched once, the Force Lens. It has been fortified now, and is more of a Space Dock. It is five times larger than it once was.
We do not think this station can be destroyed; last time you sent it into the center of a sun. While it destroyed the physical structure of the device, whatever else it was consumed all of the sun and waited for someone to tap into its power.
Eli: Thanks, Senji
We have a plan—we can get you into the station through a maintenance hatch. From there, go to the Command Center and confront Darth Sirius and Darth Xevius. Once you have done that, send the station on a permanent hyperspace ship where it will come back in another few millennia to plague another party. There is a hyperspace route that will take it around the galaxy indefinitely; it has enough power to never drop out of hyperspace until the galaxy has come and gone.
This task cannot be taken lightly, but time is of the essence. Get your things and go; do not come back until they are dead or stopped—or the galaxy will not survive.
Master Annu turns to Obachi and says, “Beware the temptation of the Dark Side.”
They’re all out of killbots, so that’s no help.
Poof. We get into the Stealth Ship (which is apparently back) and we zip across the galaxy. We’re dropped off at the bottom of the orbital platform that used to be the Force Lens.
When we get there, the Force Sensitive people here realize it’s Dark Side Desecrated; all light side Force users are at -5 to Use The Force. All Dark Side Force Users are at +5.
We’re inside near a small door with a Force Field. Sartok Dissipates the field to reveal a room small enough for one person. There is no other way to go—inside or into space. The small room is a tiny elevator large enough for one person. We send Obachi first.
Two rounds later, the doorway opens up and the Force Field goes off. Denso steps in and zips up. Then goes Arg, then Eli. Finally, Sartok goes up.
Nothing happens for Obachi. For the rest of us…
Init! We have our own fights and cannot see each other, etc. We must have our own fishbowls with panoramic views of the universe.
Sartok’s enemy tells him, “Enough talk!” and draws a lightsaber.
The bot near Eli stops talking and it seems like it’s begging to be hacked.
Denso’s opponent takes a fighting stance.
Sartok’s opponent (Senji as we knew him) hits him with his red lightsaber. “You must be vanquished if you will not stand with me!”
Sartok tells him, “We were once brothers, not enemies. We do not need to fight!”
Senji: No, you were not my brother! You abandoned me in my time of need.
Obachi is hanging out with another Jedi-looking dude, formulating a strategy. Uh-oh.
Arg gets to fight a Senji-bot, which goes first. Its lightsaber flicks on and it hacks Arg for 47 points. Arg attempts to shoot the bot and misses.
Denso’s opponent strikes at him with combat gloves and hits his flat-footed ass for 12.
Eli Hacks with a 31, but that’s not enough (pep, force point=31).
Senji uses Temptation on Sartok and beats his Will defense. “No, you must join me!” then looks away vaguely.
Sartok drops Senji down two steps by Master Negotiation.
The Senji-bot missed Arg; Arg tumbles back and he shoots it.
Powerglove boy hits Denso.
Eli can’t hack the bot again (pep, force point=33).
Senji tells Sartok, “I will not give into your mind tricks!” and misses. Sartok attempts to Negotiator him again, saying, “Senji, you trusted me when we got rid of the Sith Poison. You know you can trust me now.” Good for a +2 (because he’s already down two levels).
Gloveboy hits Denso for 16 more points, then looks away vacantly.
Arg takes his Second Wind just after the bot floats over to him, saying, “Die if you will not join me!” It whacks him, then looks away. He shoots it and misses.
Every once in a while, the person playing cards with Obachi looks away vacantly.
Eli hacks once more (37) and breaks in. 35 is out, next round is 30.
Denso’s dude missed him. Denso is not armed, BTW, and misses with his fists.
Senji: You will not overcome me! He misses, then looks away.
Sartok deactivates his lightsaber and says, “Senji, I will not fight you. Consider this—the one you have allied with, what will he do when your plan succeeds and you are on top? Will he stand by your side, or do as you plan to? Let the cycle of hate go.”
Arg’s killbot misses him. Arg shoots and misses. Denso’s opponent hits for 13 points.
Glovedude: When I finish with you, your friends will die!
Eli hacks successfully again (33—next up, 25).
Senji: No, you are right! There is no way out of this! The Cake is a Lie!
Senji shuts off the lightsaber, and say, “Kill me now—I cannot live like this any longer!” Then he kneels in front of Sartok
Sartok tosses his lightsaber to the ground, and says, “Senji, I will not kill you. But I will help you. Give up your hate and come with me”. He extends his hand to Senji.
The Senjibot misses Arg. Arg attacks, calling on the Force (for two 1’s). He still misses. He feels like the Force has betrayed him, but the Dark Side calls.
Denso takes 14 points and misses his counterattack.
Eli finishes hacking in and finds himself in a virtual reality. Next round, he can choose to end the virtual reality.
Senji reaches his hand out to Sartok; Sartok attempts to pull him up but dark energy courses through Senji into Sartok. For each Force point he spends, he negates something. Senji is dumping 24 Force Points into Sartok. Each Destiny point equals 10 Force points.
Sartok spends 2 Destiny, 4 Force and negates it.
Senji falls to the ground. All of the other Senji constructs scream out in terror.
The killbot screams and does not attack Arg. Arg drops his pistol, quick-draws the saber, and lunges at the bot. He hits for 15 points.
Denso’s opponent has collapsed to the ground, screaming. He waits.
Eli ends the virtual reality, and the walls around us disappear. Our areas are platforms surrounding a central platform; there is a walkway to the middle from each area. No railings, of course. We see a Sith Lord overlooking the whole situation, laughing. Of course, it’s Sirius.
Sirius: This has gone far enough. Your treachery is evident, but it is no matter. I shall defeat your form and rule the galaxy alone! (he’s speaking to The Senjis).
We all regain any health and Second Winds we used. Force Points are, however, consumed.
Senji looks to Sartok, and says, “Thank you. I am not here for much longer.”
BTW, Obachi is on the board in red.
Top of the round: Senji A lights his red saber, and says, “We must finish this!” Sartok goes next; he retrieves his saber, lights it, and moves. “Let us go, brother, and end this. We will serve the galaxy.”
Sirius: We must finish them, or finish him!
Obachi lights his double saber and lights another saber in his off-hand. He also uses some force skills. I don’t think we yet know he’s turned.
Denso realizes he now has his guns, but so does D. D tumbles backwards and fires at Denso. He misses. C looks at Obachi and asks, “Which one first? Or should we split up?”
Obachi: Take who you want. I suggest Sartok, as he’s the most dangerous.
Other guy: The Sith master is the most dangerous. He dies first!
Brian: Dan, it’s going to be so worth getting the Dark Side point for killing you.
The dude C leaps up to Sirius, finishes his charge, and swings his lit lightsaber. He hits. He uses a Force Point and the hate flows freely…He hammers the Sith Lord for 37 points.
E: Free at last!
He misses Arg. Arg misses E despite using a Force Point.
Denso moves around and Move Objects D (Pep and Force point). He rocks the house and defeats D’s will save; he moves him off the edge. D’s gone (we hear his body sizzle at it hits the reactor vapors), but Denso gets a Dark Side Point. Wait, that wasn’t D. That was Obachi! Or not…based on Joel’s “gentle prodding”.
Then again, Obachi has been tainted for weeks.
Darth Sirius looks at Denso, and says, “Aah, my new apprentice!”
We feel a vibration in the Force as Sirius spends a destiny point.
Sirius: Your efforts are foolish; you will all perish!
Lightning fills the entire concourse. Reflex defense of 35 hits us all. One step and 39 points to everyone.
Eli aims and shoots but misses Sirius.
Good Senji moves. C attacks Sirius and hits twice. Good for us until C turns on us. Obachi moves up to S.
Sartok knows that Obachi has turned. Apparently he made his will save in the elevator.
E pounds Arg and proves that he’s likely the biggest threat in the room. Arg tumbles back and attempts to Force Lightning on E. He uses a FP to knock E down the track.
We notice A stumble a little bit like he had been hit when Denso threw D down the hole.
Denso shoots E and misses. S Second Winds (C hit him thrice), uses Force Recovery, and relieves C of his lightsaber.
Sirius: Prepare to die!
Eli misses Sirius.
Senji looks up, activates Battlestrike, and moves up to Sirius. He can’t attack, though.
Sartok moves and says, “Obachi, you do not want to go down this path.” Master Negotiator vs. Will defense of 32.
C tries to Grip Sirius and does a lousy 8 points of damage. It sucks not having a light saber.
Obachi designates Sartok as his target, Battle Strikes, and attacks. Except, he uses a Destiny point to get an auto-crit. Except, Sartok blocks it.
E moves up to Arg and crits him for 90 points. He uses a Force point and saves himself. Denso a-a-shoots E and hits for 30.
Sirius attacks C, who is without his saber, and hits for 24 points. Eli recovers and misses E.
Senji says it is time to end this and attacks Sirius.
Sartok attempts to Sever Force on Obachi and Sirius. He rolls a natural 20 for a total of 34. He cuts ‘em both off.
C does Force Strike with Shape Power—he just hits Sirius. He whacks Sirius for 32. Obachi figures he’s gone down the road, so he’ll play it out and attacks Sartok (who fails to block) for 39 points. Owiee!
Senji-bot (E) moves across the room towards Eli. Denso hits E.
Sirius Whirlwind attacks and gets a natural 1. Suck!
Eli finishes recovering and crits E for 52. Nice.
Senji hits Sirius for 24 more. Sartok attempts to Force Slam into the melee; he gets Obachi, E, and C. It’s enough to hit Obachi’s threshold, but neither E or C.
C attempts to slam but it’s pretty much useless. Obachi stands up, activates Dark Rage, and whacks Sartok.
E turns and flamethrowers the whole mess for 32 points. Senji-bot wants to kill Sirius more than anything, apparently. Denso drills E, who now is looking at Denso.
Sirius looks at Senji-bot and says, “You idiot!” He uses Force Whirlwind and sucks up Senji-bot. Sirius uses his second Second Wind.
Eli aim-aim-shoots Sirius and crits for 72 points.
Senji hit Sirius again. Sartok tumbles to the right and attacks Sirius, or not.
Sartok tells Obachi: One more time—surrender or die!
C yells at Obachi, give me one of your lightsabers. I can finish him!
Or not; he takes the saber Obachi dropped and attacks Sirius, and hits.
Obachi Recovers up to -5. Senjibot is whirled. Arg is down. Denso shoots C and hits for 22. Sirius turns to Senji and does something that hits Senji. Eli shoots Sirius for 22, when the magic number was apparently 23.
Senji spends a Force point (he hasn’t been Severed) and says, “It ends here!” He hacks Sirius for 20 points, and Sirius collapses.
C and E screech and do nothing. Sartok attacks Obachi (who swifted last round).
Sartok: I’m sorry I have to do this, friend.
He attacks and hits for 19 points.
C: Yes, it is mine!
Then he looks at the other Senji and charges, screaming, “You traitor!”
Obachi looks at Sartok and says, “It was my destiny—it was worth a try!” He attacks Sartok and crits him, which Sartok can’t block. That’s 78 points.
Senjibot flies up in the air to deal Death From Above on Senji. He misses.
Denso pulls out a TD and moves it into the room. Eli drills E.
Senji tries to move the TD away and fails…then he runs away.
Sartok Negotiator’s Obachi again, then moves up towards the Good Senji.
C isn’t dumb enough to hang around, so he leaves.
Obachi spots a hatch on the floor and goes down the elevator. He escapes. E fires flechettes at Senji and Sartok.
On Denso’s turn, the TD blows up and kills the Senji-bot. There is a hole in the floor. Denso a-a-shoots C and kills him.
When the bot blows up and C dies, Senji falls face-first. He’s breathing shallowly.
Senji says, “I’m free.”
Sartok: You are. Well done.
Senji: It is long past time for me to go.
He draws one more breath, and his body fades away.
We loot the bodies; the only Sith artifacts worth anything are um, yeah.
Obachi steals our stealth ship and leaves. The heroes steal a ship and mad lootz and ride off into the sunset.
Meanwhile, Obachi starts to plot…and the holochron tells him that the rest of it can be found with a ship like that and a person like him, he can be the most powerful Sith since Xar Kun.
