Follow up:

We hear the voice of Rahotep, talking to some devil (infernal) - "But if you come with us now, we will offer you a place that you can again climb to these heights that you remember."

Rahotep:  I have these faint memories of how long it took to climb through the ranks, the people that had to be deposed along the way -- I have no interest in doing that again.  I have lived for principals of those that weild strength - I will not be subjugated and join your group of Galygon.  No instead, those who are strongest will deserve my essence; I relinquish my essence to this plane; if your lord is as strong as he claims, he can claim that strength.  I am not coming with you

Devil: Brave words, I've heard similar from others, but they lack the follow through.  I will put you in chains and see how you fare

Rahotep:  You will not have that chance.  We hear a whooshing sound.

Davil:  Curses!  That doesnot meet my quota!

We get to the purple tower and are greeted by four super-sized wights.  THey level drain me, hack and psycho (me twice).  That's 10:20 am.

After a fire trap, we start searching the first floor; we find a closet which is arcane locked.  Inside is a strange shimmering curtain (black) that flashes different types of clothes, and an iron-bound chest.  There is a boat load of loot in the chest, and 50K+ in strange silver coins.  We take all the high value loot;   nezbit takes 2000 silver pieces. stick takes 10000 silver pieces.    torch takes one.  psycho takes one.

We move on into the complex, searching and finding various bits left behind, but the place has been looted.  We get to an altar room; nezbit almost gets smoked by a destruction spell.  Somehow he manages to avoid that and we breach the room.  Inside we are greeted by infernal beetle swarms.  This yields nothing of particular value but a lot of damage.

The search of the rest of the floor yields little more.  We proceed to the second floor.
