Even before the Greyhawk migration, the Olman were an empire. They hold fast to their traditions. Some have fallen to decay and evil but there is a spirit still. A terrible earthquake raised the mountain and lit the sky’s on fire. The Olman empire was no more. They proudly point to the fact that they still survive.

On the plateau. 3 figures represent god of moon and god of sun and quetzalcoatl. They appear to be focused on a bow. The bow is a mystery but the stone was believed to be a map to a weapon. Jacarta encourages us to take the stone this time. Zeden takes the scroll.

We discuss travel options. Seems just walking is the way to go. Sainooli will lead the way. We sail to Tanaroa and head past the great wall. On our second day past the wall Zeden keeps us from being surprised by a Shambling mound!
That evening, Sainooli realizes that there is a patrol of 4-8 trogs passing by. Stealth +6, we’re all good.

Morning of the 6th day. Sainooli notes 6-10 neandertals are approaching the secure shelter. They poke and prod but soon wander away. That evening we reached the Thanegioth river.
We decide to travel to the north side. Less massive climb checks. By 9ish in the morning we are at the top. We are greeted by the brushland and remains of an ancient olman walkway.
We begin to follow the SS’s trail back to the Olman village to see the quetzalcoatl. Another 6 hours and perception checks.
Zeden notes movement and gives us a heads up to duck. A group of lizardmen moving ½ mile to the south. Benco actually notes the glint of a Pelor medallion!!!
We stand up and begin to approach. We get to about 1000ft. We try to remain non threatening. Alex approaches. We can't understand them so he casts Tongues. They confer some information. They saw skinwalkers just yesterday. Alex congratulates them. Some are proud the rest are still nervous.
We rest on the west side and in the morning head to Mantrue. Uneventful travel.
8 thatched lodges on stilts in the lake. The rest is still run down. Sunken boats etc. No sign of movement. 2 couatl appear above one of the huts. Winged colorful snake things. We hear their voices in our minds.
Them: Welcome mortals. If you mean no disrespect then you are welcome. Else you will be prevented. We are servants of quetzalcoatl. We are here to respect the fallen. Until worthy heros come to bid Umlot farewell.

Them: Very well. In this hut lies Umlot; chief who fell in defense of this village.
We head into the main lodge. A large man lies on a mat inside. The couatls follow us and two more appear outside.

As Sainooli passes the doorframe one of the couatls looks hard at another.
After a quick discussion we turn on our heel and Sainooli answers “North.”

We return to the hut and see Umlot and his clawed body. After respects a ghostly form rises from the body.
Umlot: Thank you for your words. I am disconnected from happenings. But to know others follow and know of our sacrifice allows me to move on. What questions will you ask?
Us: What manner of creature has taken your village?
U: Our village has always been under the control of kopru. Who kept us in an unaware state of servitude. They will take our best men and use them as guards. This changed a few months back. A horrible watery demon with bulbous eyes. Killed phano with a lethal symbol. I was killed by a demon ghoul. Paralyzed me and broke my neck. All the villagers were taken alive.
Us: Any effective tactics against these creatures?
U: Our weapons didn’t bite their flesh. The rune was probably cast by a waistralith.

Parts of the fog clear over the lake and we see a big ass island in the big ass lake. The island has a strange tilt. 200’ high on the west side sloping down. Do we grab one boat or two?
After too much deliberation, we choose to all take one boat. We find one not full of water and push off. We head for the south shore.
About a mile, Something gargantuan from beneath us. A huge crocodile tries to snap our boat in half!
